Avoid being Quarrelsome


One of the lessons we learn from this hadith is to avoid conflicts and being quarrelsome even in situations where we may be right. Again, while we should point out the truth but we should not become quarrelsome and should avoid all attitudes and attributes of being one of such people. We especially tend to get into such situations with people to whom we are closer because there are fewer barriers between us and them but then that exposure also risks deterioration of relationships by getting into quarrelsome situations frequently…Let’s heed to the prophet’s call and restrain ourselves instead.

(A) Narrated ‘Âishah ?: The Prophet said, “The most hated person to Allâh is the one who is most quarrelsome of the opponents.” (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.3, Hadîth No.637).

  • (B) Narrated Abu Umamah Allâh’s Messenger said: “(a) I guarantee a home in Paradise for a person who gives up arguments and disputes even if he is on the truth. (b) And [I (also) guarantee] a home in the middle of Paradise for a person who gives up lying (false statements) even while joking. (c) And [I (also) guarantee] a home in the highest part of Paradise for a person who has a high standard of character.” (This Hadith is quoted by Abu Dâwûd, At-Tirmidhi, Nasâ’i and Ibn Majah).

SUMMARY:
Having appealed to the Christians in the preceding part of Aal-e-‘Imran and the Jews in the previous chapter, ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA) now directs HIS verses to the Muslim community. This begins with a call for the Muslim community to remain united, holding fast to the rope of ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA). It then addresses the battles of Badr and ‘Uhud, detailing the reasons why Badr was a victory against all odds and ‘Uhud the opposite. ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA) concludes by reminding us that HIS Promise is certain and that we must remain patient and have Taqwa (ALLAAH Consciousness). In this Juz also begins the chapter al-Nisa (Women), named after the numerous references to women and injunctions related to them. This chapter is important, as being revealed after the defeat at ‘Uhud it covers some of the inevitable consequences; widows, orphans and the fair distribution of wealth.

LESSONS:
• The importance of holding fast to ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA)’S rope and the significance of unity and not splitting;

• The high status of the Muslim nation by virtue of their enjoining the good and prohibiting the evil;

• The Battle of ‘Uhud which teaches us the result of disobedience (to Nabi SALLALLAAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM);

• The qualities of ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA)’S righteous servants. Research and consider them well and do your utmost to be one of them! Nabi SALLALLAAHU ALAYHI WA SALLAM would recite the last verses of Aal-e-‘Imran upon waking up - ponder them carefully;

• The chapter al-Nisa’ concentrates on the rights of the weak and downtrodden, the orphans, women, and those oppressed and unable to migrate.

The Virtues of Tarawih Prayers in Ramadan


Rewards of Tarawih prayer is different for each day
The importance and virtue of tarawih prayers
Tarawih is a means for forgiveness of the sins
“Allah (swt) has made Ramadan fasting obligatory. I have made the night prayer (tarawih) sunnah. He who fasts and observes night prayers believing the virtues and seeking his reward from Allah (swt), He will be saved from his sins as a newborn baby.” (Nasai)

Whoever performs Tarawih prayer a palace made of ruby will be built for him in Jannah
When it is the first night of Ramadan; the doors of skies and the Paradise are opened. And This continues until the last night (of the Ramadan).Whoever (man or woman); for every sajdah that he makes one of the nights of Ramadan, one thousand seven hundred hasanah (rewards) will be recorded. A palace made of red ruby will be built for him and each of its doors will have two wings embroidered with red ruby. (Al-Ghunyat’ut-Talibin)
During Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Abu Bakr (ra)’s time tarawih prayers were being performed individually and this continued until the beginning of Umar’s (ra) caliphate. Upon the order of Umar (ra), tarawih prayers have been started to be performed in congregation led by Ubay bin Ka’ab (ra). Therefore, performing Tarawih prayer in congregation is called “the sunnah of Umar (ra)” (Kutub Al-Sittah)

Tarawih prayer has a different virtue for each day
Imam al-Ghazali commands about the virtue of Tarawih prayer:
It is narrated from Ali (ra)
(Who performs Tarawih prayer)
1st night: His all sins are forgiven.
2nd night: His and -if they are Mumin- his parents’ sins are forgiven.
3rd night: Angels proclaim and herald saying: “O, Mumin, Allah (swt) accepted your good deeds and your requests.”
4th night: Allah (swt) rewards him with the hasanah of those who reads the Tawrat(Torah), the Bible, the Zabur and the Quran.
5th night: Allah (swt) rewards him as if he performs prayer in Masjid Al-Haram.
6th night: Allah (swt) rewards him as if he made tawaf in Baitul Mamur.
7th night: Allah (swt) rewards as though he was with Prophet Musa (and helped him) when he fought Fir’aun and Haman.
8th night: Allah (swt) rewards him as though he accompanied Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the Battle of Badr.
9th night: Allah (swt) rewards him as though he worshipped with Prophet Dawud.
 10th night: Allah (swt) gives safety to him both in the world and in the hereafter.
11th night: Allah (swt) rewards him with an accepted Umrah thawab.
12nd night: Whoever performs tarawih prayer this night passes from the Sirat Bridge like lightening.
13th night: Allah grants him like he constructed Baytullah.
14th night: Allah rewards him as if he stayed up for worship the whole layla-i qadr (the night of power) long.
15th night: Allah accepts his dua and wishes and gives high degrees in the hereafter.
16th night: whoever performs tarawih prayer this night says “lailaha illallah” while he is reviving from his grave in the day of judgment.
17th night: he sees his maqam (place) in Jannah A’la even before he goes there.
18th night: Allah rewards him equal to martyrs and veterans.
19th night: Allah helps him in this world and in the hereafter.
20th night: whoever performs tarawih prayer this night doesn’t leave this world without seeing prophet Muhammad in his dream.
21th night: all the angels on earth and in the heaven make istighfar (seek forgiveness) and he doesn’t leave the world unless Allah gives consent .
22nd night:  Allah rewards him as if he fed widows and orphans in the Ummah.
23th night: Allah rewards him as if he set free the slaves in the Ummah.
24th night: He gets his baraah (releasing from sins) from his right hand.
25th night: Angel of death comes in his best appearance and blesses him with Jannah blessings.
26th night: Angels protects him from satan’s evils by the order of Allah.
27th night:Gates of Jahannam is closed by the command of Allah (swt)
28th night:  Doors of Jannah is opened for him by the command of Allah and he enters whicever gate he wishes.
29th night: reward of Patience of Ayyub (as) and all his sins are forgiven.
30th night: A Munadi (invitor) calls from under arsh and says:
“Servants who pray tonight’s tarawh prayer is set free from jahannam. They are safe from what they fear, jahannam, and they embrace Allah’s beautiy.” Allah says: Form y grace and Glory’s sake I forgive these servants of mine. I prohibited their bodies from Fire of Jahannam.”

In this Juz, ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA) responds to the Jews of the time and the accusations they made when the direction of prayer was changed from the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem to Al-Ka’bah in Makkah. Importantly ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA) concludes the issue by indicating that purification of one’s soul is more important than facing any particular direction in prayer. The Juz also covers ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA)’S wisdom over a number of matters; Inheritance; Marriage; Hajj; and most pertinently, Fasting – the only place in the Qur'aan to contain such detailed information about this great act of worship. *SUMMARY:*
The first Juz of the Qur'aan comprises its opening chapter, the seven verses of al-Fatihah (the Opener) and the first part of its longest chapter, al-Baqarah (the Heifer). It is not without reason that some of the early generations considered al-Fatihah to be the ‘Mother of the Book’. In its seven short verses, it contains praise of ALLAAH, it affirms worship must be for HIM Alone and ends by informing us about the path of guidance. It is followed by the first part of al-Baqarah, which unfolds the nature of mankind through the narrative of the story of Adam (ALAHYI SALLAM) and his expulsion from Paradise. The chapter then moves onto the story of the Children of Israel (the Jews) and teaches us important lessons from the story of the heifer (cow).

*LESSONS:*

• Worship is solely and exclusively for ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA), and one must turn to HIM Alone for help

• ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA) divides mankind into three categories: believer, disbeliever or hypocrite and describes the characteristics of the hypocrite

• The story of the heifer contains great lessons: beware of faltering when faced with ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA)’S commands and do not procrastinate or ridicule them because to do so leads to hardness of the heart

• Beware the danger of preventing ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA)’S remembrance in the Masaajids, or moving to destroy them

Misconceptions about the 15th of Sha’baan


Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say, when beginning a khutbah (sermon):
“… The best of speech is the Book of Allah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those which are newly-invented, and every innovation is a going astray…” [1]
Here are some of the misconceptions regarding the fifteenth of Sha’baan. Humbly request all to read them with a sincere heart and an open-mind, one which is willing to accept the truth when it is presented to it.

Misconception #1: The night of the 15th of Sha’baan should be singled out for worship, prayer, etc.

Clarification: Our best example and role model is the Prophet (peace be upon him) and he never, ever singled out this night for worship or qiyaam nor did his Sahaba (may Allāh be pleased with them all).
Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:
“There is no saheeh hadeeth concerning the night of the fifteenth of Sha’baan. All the ahaadeeth that have been narrated concerning that are mawdoo’ (fabricated) and da’eef (weak), and have no basis. There is nothing special about this night, and no recitation of Qur’aan or prayer, whether alone or in congregation, is specified for this night. What some of the scholars have said about it being special is a weak opinion. It is not permissible to single it out for any special actions. This is the correct view. And Allāh is the Source of strength.” [2]

Misconception #2: There are special prayers to be offered on this night.

Clarification: The truth of the matter is that there are NO special prayers to be offered on this night specifically. And all those ‘ahaadeeth’ giving you long lists of special ‘formulas’ that are “supposed to guarantee you Allāh’s forgiveness and Jannah” are all fabricated, false and innovations in our Deen. If there were such prayers, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would have told us about them and we would have had evidence of him (peace be upon him) and the Sahaba (may Allāh be pleased with them) doing it.

Misconception #3: Allāh descends to the first heaven on this night to forgive us.

Clarification: Allāh’s descending to the first heaven does not only happen on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’baan. Rather it happens every single night of the year.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Every night when it is the last third of the night, our Lord, the Superior, the Blessed, descends to the nearest heaven and says: Is there anyone to invoke Me that I may respond to his invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone asking My forgiveness so that I may forgive him?.” [3]
Thus, when ‘Abd-Allāh ibn al-Mubarak was asked about the descent of Allāh on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’baan, he said to the one who asked him:
“O weak one! The night of the fifteenth?! He descends every night!” [4]

Misconception #4: This is the night when our fate, lifespan, and provisions are decreed.

Clarification: Some people think that the “blessed night” (laylatim-mubarakah) mentioned in Surah ad-Dukhan, 44: 3, refers to the night of 15th Sha’baan, when Allāh decrees our lifespan, provisions and fate. In fact, they even pray 6 rakahs, 2 for each of these things. However, all that is fabricated and far, far away from the authentic Sunnah.
And, in reality, the “blessed night” mentioned in Surah ad-Dukhan, actually is referring to Laylatul Qadr that comes in Ramadhan. [5]

Misconception #5: One should fast specifically on the day of the fifteenth.

Clarification: Here again, there is no saheeh reports that tell us that the Prophet (peace be upon him) or his Sahabah (may Allāh be pleased with them all) ever picked this day specifically to fast. The Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was to fast most of the month of Sha’baan and not just the 15th. However, if the fifteenth of Sha’baan coincides with a Monday or Thursday, or with the three white days (which in this case it does since the three white days of every lunar month are 13th, 14th and 15th) or if a person is generally fasting, without associating seeking extra rewards to fasting this specific day, then it is allowed. [6]

Misconception #6: This is the night when the souls of departed ones return to their families.

Clarification: Yet again what we have here is some people misunderstanding the ayat in surah al-Qadr and thinking that the ‘sending down of the Ruh’ as mentioned in this surah refers to the souls of the dead people returning to see their families,
even though the ayat is referring to Jibreel (peace be upon him).[7]
And that is why we see women preparing the sweets, the Halwas and other ‘goodies’ for the souls of their loved ones.
Not only is that in itself an erroneous, a deviant belief and a bid’ah, but to believe that the souls of the dead can return back to the world and meet with their relatives is also totally incorrect and false. The teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah clearly state that the souls of the dead do not return back to the world.

Misconception #7: Visiting graveyards, especially on this night is something good.

Clarification: Although the Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged visiting graves, he forbade singling out any day or night for any kinds of good deeds if it is not prescribed in the Sharee’ah. And he (peace be upon him) did not specifically visit the graveyard on the night of the 15th of Sha’baan. The hadeeth of ‘Aisha (may Allāh be pleased with her) that mentions that the Prophet (peace be upon him) visited the graveyard this night is not authentic and thus does not have any proof for visiting graves specifically on this night of Sha’baan.

Misconception #8: Even if the ahadeeth about worship on this night are weak, one can still do it.

Clarification: The correct scholarly view is that weak ahadeeth should not be followed at all, even if they speak of righteous deeds or of targheeb and tarheeb (promises and warnings). The saheeh reports are sufficient and the Muslim has no need to follow the da’eef reports.
Shaykh Ahmad Shakir said:
“There is no difference between rulings or righteous deeds; we do not take any of them from da’eef reports, rather no one has the right to use any report as evidence unless it is proven to be soundly narrated from the Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him him) in a saheeh or hasan hadeeth.”
Even Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself stated what a Muslim ought to do when there is a doubtful matter, and this is most certainly at the very least a doubtful matter:
“That which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is clear and between the two of them are doubtful [or ambiguous] matters about which not many people are knowledgeable. Thus, he who avoids these doubtful matters certainly clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor. But he who falls into the doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Verily every king has a sanctuary and Allāh’s sanctuary is His prohibition. In the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be sound, all the body is sound and which, if it be diseased, all the body is diseased. This part of the body is the heart”. [8]

Misconception #9: Look at all those people doing it. How can they all be wrong?

Clarification: The Muslim is supposed to refer to Allāh and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace be upon him) if there is any confusion or dispute about matters and NOT what the rest of the world is doing.
“O you who believe! Obey Allāh and obey the Messenger (peace be upon him) and those of you who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allāh and His Messenger (peace be upon him), if you believe in Allāh and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.” [9]
Shaykh Ibn Jibreen said:
“These reports (about worship and fasting an the 15th of Sha’baan) became very well known in some countries which were overwhelmed by ignorance; One should not be deceived by the large numbers of ignorant people who do these things.”
Remember it’s not about the quantity, but rather about the authenticity of the practice.

The REAL Sunnah regarding Sha’baan:

If you truly and sincerely want to please Allāh and do deeds that will be acceptable to Him, then follow the REAL and authentically proven Sunnah of the Messenger (peace be upon him). Here is what is proven in the authentic Sunnah:
1. Fast most of this month as much as you can, especially the white days and/or Mondays and Thursdays.
‘Aisha (may Allāh be pleased with her) said:
“I never saw the Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him) fasting for an entire month except in Ramadan, and I never saw him fast more than he did in Sha’baan.” [10]
2. However, if you are weak or do not fast habitually and feel that this nafil (voluntary) fasting may be a hindrance to your obligatory fasting in the month of Ramadan, then the person may stop the nafil fasting in the last few days of this month. And for that person, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“When Sha’baan is half over, do not fast.” [11]
3. If you have fasts left over from last Ramadan to make up, then hurry up and do so in this month of Sha’baan before the next Ramadan comes.
It is not permissible to delay missed fasts until after the following Ramadan, except in cases of necessity (such as a valid excuse that continues between the two Ramadans). ‘Aisha (may Allāh be pleased with her) said:
“It used to be that I had days to make up for Ramadan and I would not be able to do so except in Sha’baan.” [12]
So, if you are someone who used to or planned to celebrate the 15th of Sha’baan thinking the acts and deeds you were told to perform would bring you closer to Allāh’s mercy, we request you to kindly think again, very carefully. Is it really worth it? Why can’t we not just stick with the authentic acts? At least on the day of judgement, we know we did what was authentically passed to us and not that which had clouds of doubts over them.
May Allāh guide us to that which is best for our worldly life and the hereafter.

Islam sirf ore sirf Quran ore Hadith ka Naam hay. Hamain har kam karnay say pahlay soch lana chahiay k, kiya yeh kam Quran wa Hadith say Sabeet bi hay ya nai. Allah hamain bidaat say Bachay Aamen.








Decisions on Shab-e-baraat

Assalaam alaikum .

My question is regarding the celebration of "shabe baraat" that some muslims practice. How true is the idea (which some people believe) that Allah decides who is going to die and who is going to be born on this particular night. As far as I think the birth and death of all people has already been decreed in the divine decree set by Allah a long time before and cannot be changed . Could you please explain from Quran and sunnah whether there is any evidence of when Allah has decided or decides the time of birth or death of his creations (is it already decreed, or is it decided when the soul is in the womb of its mother or is it during one of the shabe baraat nights as some people say.) Thank you.

Decisions on Shab-e-baraat:

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 94 Narrated by Ubadah ibn as-Samit
Allah's Messenger (saws) said: The (very) first thing which Allah created was the Pen. He commanded it to write. It asked: What should I write? He, The High and Exalted is He, said: Write the Decree (al-Qadr). So it wrote what had happened and what was going to happen up to eternity.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 57 Surah Hadid verse 22:No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a Decree before We bring it into existence: that is truly easy for Allah:

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 2:He it is who created you from clay andDecreed a stated term (for you).And there is in His presence another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves!.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 30 Surah Rom verse 8:Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but for just ends and for a Term Appointed did Allah create the heavens and the earth and all between them: yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection)!

Beloved and brother in Islam, before anything in the Universe was created, the All Mighty, All Wise Lord created the Pen and commanded it to write down everything from the beginning of creation to its end! Thus the Truth of the matter is that the Qadr or Decree was written with the Perfect and Absolute Knowledge of The All Knowing Lord before anything came into existence!

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.550Narrated by Anas bin Malik
The Prophet (saws) said, "Allah has appointed an Angel in the womb, and the angel says, 'O Lord! A drop of discharge (i.e. of semen), O Lord! a clot, O Lord! a piece of flesh.'And then, if Allah wishes to complete the child's creation, the Angel will say. 'O Lord! A male or a female? O Lord! wretched or blessed (in religion)? What will his livelihood be? What will his age be?' The Angel writes all this while the child is in the womb of its mother."

In light of the above hadith, it is clear that Allah Subhanah appoints an Angel from Himself over every womb, and the Angel writes a personal record of the soul being born derived from the Perfect and Absolute Knowledge of Allah Subhanah. Thus the birth and the death of the soul is Decreed and documented even before the child is born from the mothers womb! 

Your Question: or is it during one of the shabe baraat nights as some people say.

The Night of Shabe-Baraat has absolutely nothing to do with the recorded Decrees or Decisions of Allah Subhanah, nor with the birth or death of any individual. 

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
